Im Your Ad Guy

Are You Normal?

Answer this question before you read anymore.  Do you consider yourself normal?

Have you answered the question?   Okay…please proceed.

I personally do not consider myself normal and I am not a fan of the normal definition of normal.  Read the standard definition and focus on the first word…

“conforming to the standard or the common type; usual; not abnormal; regular; natural.”

Okay…do you conform at work?  Do you follow the leaders?  Do exactly what your told even though there is a better, faster, more creative and more efficient way of getting the job done?  Are you standard or a common type?  Are you usual or of the regular type that just gets by in life or at work?

Now looking at that definition…I would be offended if someone called me normal!  So, I do consider myself abnormal and I sure hope that everyone that knows me considers me abnormal as well.  There is no remarkable in our definition of normal.  There is no glory in our definition of normal…no success…no failure…nothing!!!

The next time you say “That is not normal!”  (Of course in our everyday judgemental kind of way…) remember this post.  Call me anything you want, just don’t call me normal
