The Three Second Rule

No, I’m not talking about having three seconds to pick up food that you have dropped on the ground before you can’t eat it anymore.  I’m talking about one of my list items on my Journey To 4.0.

How many times have you wished you could take back something that you have said in haste.  Me, I can not count the times I have said something stupid.  (Just ask my wife and co-workers)  Well, now I have an answer to that embarrassing moment…”The Three Second Rule”.  No longer will I just blurt out angry replies, or speak before I think…NOPE.  I will now pause for three seconds and come up with a response that makes sense, is not irrational and will not offend.

This item has been placed on my personal and professional lists.  Your welcome friends, family and co-workers.  WINK!

I think this rule applies to everyone! I’m sure we all wish we could take stupid things that we said back! I will start using this rule too. It will help keep me out of trouble. LOL

Oh yeah. I am making it a habit from this point forward. It’s easy to tell yourself to watch your tongue, but much harder to put it to practice. That’s why I made it literal and defined it as one of my Journey To 4.0 list items.
