How would a one round, no time limit fight look on pay-per-view? Horrible! Ohhhh, it would be really great for the first couple minutes. Each fighter would be fresh, throwing punches, kicks, elbows and the like with frequency. But, about 10 minutes in, exhaustion would set in no matter how in shape you may be.
At this point…you would have to watch two individuals walk around breathing heavy, trying to recover. One maybe two more bursts later, someone would just fall out unless they have already been knocked out. (You would want a knock out to happen fast if there was a no time limit round). You would be pretty mad that you paid $50 for this fight!
There Is A Reason That Fighters Take A Break Between Rounds.
The fight is more exciting when each fighter is fresh. A brief moment allows for a mental break, a physical break and allows for an opportunity to correct some of the wrongs from the last round. The way fighter’s handle the in between rounds is sometimes just as important as the fight itself.
Do You Take A Break Between Rounds?
Ambition can be exhausting. You can’t fix, correct, adjust or even catch a breath unless you take a moment in between “Life’s Rounds”. Unlike a prize-fight, life just doesn’t stop for a TV time out or a scheduled break unless you force it.
