YAAAAWWWN!
Sometimes it really is difficult to get yourself in “game mode”. You know the focused frame of mind that is your work personality. Just like this morning…I found myself hitting the snooze on my iPhone more times than I should have. I was NOT ready to get in the game this morning. (Could have been the fact that I worked most of Sunday as well, but that is just me being a little bitter.)
But I Digress!
Anyway, my point is that sometimes you just need to SUIT UP! The moment I slide the knot on my tie up to my throat and buttoned the last button on my vest, I seemed to get back into game mode. There must be something about putting on your uniform that helps you transform.
Or do I attach my personalities (yes I have two…not in a clinically insane way) to my clothing? Hmmmmm…I have to delve into this a little more.
Whatever it is, it’s working.
So, I am going to continue to SUIT UP and stay in the game. Because the bench is not somewhere I want to be right now.
I agree. What I do, and advise others to do who work at home, is to get dressed for work, even if it is not business suit, and change into something else at the end of the day. It creates a separation and makes it easier to see when you should be working and when not.
Great idea. I think if you are looking for work it is important to dress the part for 8 hours…even if you are at home on the computer. It’s a mindset that seems to work, right?
