Trying To Make It Happen

…And I Fight On

I am almost 6 months through my Journey To 4.0. and the three areas of my life that I have been focusing on have improved.  I have been using “The Fighter’s Mentality” to execute my plan of building a healthier life when it comes to my body, my profession and my family / friends.  I shall grade myself now!!!  See below.

Health and Fitness – GRADE B+

  • Averaging 72 miles of running per month.  9 1/2 minute mile up to 3 miles
  • Burning an average of 12,000 calories per month during workouts
  • Eating less…Eating Better (NO DIET, just focused on moderation)
  • Waistline down to 29 inches
  • Mentally and Physically I feel healthy
  • Working on new leg routines

Professional Life – GRADE B

  • Getting in earlier and leaving earlier.  Averaging 11 hour days now instead of 12
  • Organizing on a new level
  • Attitude upgrade, focusing on less conflict and more solutions for my team
  • Planning deeper (in chess terms, looking 4 moves ahead instead of 2 moves ahead)
  • Focusing on relationships and customer service more
  • Still working on attitude and dealing with frustration on a small-scale

Family and Friends – GRADE B –

  • Contacting my close family more often
  • Contacting my extended family more often
  • Spending more focused time with my wife
  • Spending more weekend time with my wife and friends
  • Making new friends and building new relationships
  • Still working on more time for my wife in the evenings and more time for relaxation

I am not giving my self an “A” in any category for many reasons that are personal to me.  Most of which are based on assessments from along the way.  Now that I have taken a look at my life, I am constantly changing and upgrading my efforts.  The ultimate goal is to still hit what I have defined as my perfect life.  (or “better” as I wrote about on Monday)

Please take the time to plan your own personal Journey To 4.0.  Start slow and make it a part of your routine.  You won’t regret it.
